Luis Souza is a lawyer and founding partner at Souza, Mello e Torres based in São Paulo. He belongs to the most respected lawyers in Brazil and looks back on a long career in large corporate law firms. He started at Machado, Meyer Sendacz and Opice Advogados where he left in 2001 in order to establish Souza Cescon where he was a Managing Partner for more than 16 years.

During that time, Luis was involved in the most important financing operations in Brazil, particularly in the energy and natural resources sector, such as the Petrobras Marlin field project. Currently, he represents GNA in structuring the regasification and thermal generation plan.

Luis specializes in project finance, infrastructure, oil and gas and M&A. In parallel, he is the Chairman of the IASP Standing Committee on Infrastructure Studies and also an Adviser to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as well as to the Instituto Four, responsible for ProLider which is a training program for young leaders with a focus on social transformation and development in the country.
