Sherroy Ong (Roy) has been a director and is the co-founder of Arrow Gates LLC (Singapore) with Wan Hsi Yeong. He is also an ‘of counsel’ to a leading Indonesian IP law firm in Jakarta bringing with him a wealth of experience to the bench strength of the firm.
Roy has a dual degree in law and finance, the most recent degree from University of Sydney with a distinction in Finance discipline. He is a qualified lawyer in Singapore, England & Wales and Malaysia, obtaining his law degree from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He is also a lifetime member of a prestigious business & finance association in the USA (Beta Sigma & Gamma) and also a member of the “Who’s Who Network” commissioned in the USA. Recently, before he ventured into a South East Asian family office set up advising as its governance director, he was a partner in an international local law firm in Singapore.
Together with WanHsi Yeong, he supports the corporate and commercial team in Singapore whilst continuing to practice in diverse areas and geographies throughout his career. Roy used to work for White & Case and Clifford Chance and was Head of Legal & Compliance for an Asian regional financial institution. As an off-Counsel to the firm, Sherroy Ong (Roy) brings with him a wealth of experience to the bench strength of the firm. He has extensive expertise in the finance, regulatory, corporate and commercial area practise for both Indonesia and foreign clients.
He has varied experience in the Corporate, mergers and acquisitions, commercial and sufficient experience in the telecommunications sectors and offers particularly notable experience of advising clients in the Start Ups, Private Equity, Asset Management and TMT work streams. He also advises on banking and finance matters and also advises on anti-bribery issues, privacy issues, telco spectrum issues, competition issues and etc. He is also an associate member in the esteemed body of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has advised various public bodies in the Middle East, Indonesia and Singapore. Roy is proficient in Bahasa and English and has a business knowledge ability in the Chinese language.
