The Swiss Valora Group buys the snack specialist and food service system Back-Factory based in Hamburg (Germany) from Harry-Brot as the most important producer of baked goods in Germany. The takeover is expected to take place on 1 November 2021.
Back-Factory is a provider of snack foods with more than 80 stores throughout Germany, operated as franchises and own outlets. The company generated external sales of EUR 80 million and roughly EUR 5 million EBITDA in 2019.
With Back-Factory, Valora expands its food service platform in Germany, which already includes BackWerk and Ditsch with a store portfolio of in total approx. 500 sales outlets. The acquisition shall allows for making further inroads into downtown areas.
Valora and Harry-Brot have agreed not to disclose any details about the transaction, which is being financed with existing funds.
